Terms & Conditions

Last Updated: 12 May 2025  ·  Krit Horology, Chiang Mai, Thailand

These conditions set out the basis on which Krit Horology accepts watches for service, and how we expect this website to be used. We have written them plainly so that both parties understand what to expect.

1. About Krit Horology

  • Email: [email protected]
  • Hours: Monday–Friday 10:00–18:00, Saturday 10:00–15:00; closed Sundays and public holidays

These terms apply to all enquiries submitted through our website, all watches accepted for service, and all use of the website at krithoro.club. By submitting an enquiry or leaving a watch with us, you confirm that you have read and accept these conditions.

2. Enquiries and Estimates

Submitting an enquiry through our website or by telephone does not constitute a binding agreement. It is an invitation for us to discuss your requirements and, if appropriate, to arrange an in-person assessment.

Any estimate or indicative price we provide before examining a watch is made in good faith based on the information available to us at that time. Actual costs may differ once the watch has been inspected in the workshop. We will communicate any material difference before proceeding with work and will not begin substantive repairs without your agreement.

We reserve the right to decline any watch for service at our discretion, including watches requiring parts or expertise outside our current capacity.

3. Acceptance of Watches for Service

When you leave a watch with us for assessment or service, a receipt will be issued confirming the watch's description and condition at the time of acceptance. Please review this record carefully and raise any discrepancies promptly.

You represent and warrant that:

  • You are the lawful owner of the watch, or are authorised by the owner to have service work carried out.
  • The watch is not subject to any dispute, legal hold, or third-party claim that would restrict its repair or return.

We accept watches in good faith and will not be responsible for establishing title or provenance beyond what is reasonable. If there is reason to suspect a watch may be stolen or misrepresented, we reserve the right to refuse the watch or, in serious cases, to report the matter to the relevant authorities.

4. Service Work and Scope

All service work is carried out with care and to a professional standard appropriate to the watch and service requested. Our three principal services are:

  • Assessment & Routine Care — examination, rate recording, cleaning, and lubrication as appropriate, with a written summary.
  • Movement Repair & Tuning — diagnosis and repair of movement issues, part replacement with original or matched components, regulation, and water resistance check and renewal where needed.
  • Restoration & Heritage Care — comprehensive overhaul, case refinishing, crystal and part replacement, and documentation, guided by a commitment to preservation of originality and value.

Where work beyond the agreed scope becomes necessary — for example, if additional wear is discovered during a service — we will contact you to discuss before proceeding. We will document all work carried out and provide this record to you at collection.

Timescales provided at the time of acceptance are indicative only. Watch service requires patience and care, and timelines may extend when specific parts require sourcing or when detailed attention is warranted. We will communicate any material delay.

5. Parts and Components

Where replacement parts are required, we use original manufacturer components where available and practical. Where original parts are no longer manufactured or cannot be sourced within a reasonable timeframe, we will discuss alternatives — including compatible period-correct or matched components — with you before proceeding.

For vintage or collectible watches undergoing Restoration & Heritage Care, the sourcing of correct parts may take additional time. We will keep you informed of progress throughout.

Any replaced original parts will be retained and returned to you at collection unless you indicate you do not wish to keep them.

6. Pricing and Payment

Published service prices are indicative and represent the starting point for each service tier. The final price for your watch will be confirmed after the initial assessment and agreed with you before substantive work begins.

Payment is due in full upon collection of the watch. We accept payment in Thai Baht by the methods available at our workshop. We do not process card payments through this website.

Where additional work has been agreed in the course of service, the cost of that additional work will be included in the final amount due. No charge will be added for work that has not been discussed and agreed with you.

Watches that are left uncollected for more than 90 days after notification of completion may attract a storage charge, which we will communicate to you before applying.

7. Care of Watches in Our Custody

We take reasonable care of all watches accepted into our workshop. Watches are stored securely on our premises at all times and handled only by qualified members of our team.

In the unlikely event that a watch is damaged while in our care, we will discuss the matter with you promptly and work towards a fair resolution. Our liability in such cases is limited to the reasonable cost of repair or, where repair is not possible, to a fair value agreed with you. We are not liable for pre-existing faults or conditions that were present at the time of acceptance and documented in the intake record.

We recommend that owners of high-value timepieces maintain appropriate personal property insurance. Our workshop liability does not extend to cover the full replacement value of watches in all circumstances.

8. Collection and Uncollected Watches

We will contact you when your watch is ready for collection. We ask that watches be collected within 30 days of that notification. After 90 days, uncollected watches may be subject to storage charges, as described in Section 6.

After 12 months from notification of completion, and following reasonable further attempts to contact you, an uncollected watch may be treated in accordance with applicable Thai law regarding abandoned goods. We will document all steps taken before reaching this point.

9. Website Use

This website is provided for information about our services and to allow enquiries to be submitted. You may use it for these purposes. You may not:

  • Use the website for any unlawful purpose or in any way that could damage its operation or the experience of other users.

11. Privacy

The personal information you share with us — whether through the website contact form or in person at the workshop — is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy. We encourage you to read it alongside these terms.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by applicable Thai law, Krit Horology's total liability to you in connection with our services or this website shall not exceed the amount paid by you for the specific service to which a claim relates.

We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or economic losses — including loss of value attributed to market fluctuation — arising from our service work or from your use of this website.

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud, to the extent that such limitation would be unlawful under Thai law.

13. Governing Law and Disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Thailand. Any dispute arising from them shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the Thai courts, and we will make a genuine effort to resolve any concern informally before resorting to formal proceedings.

If you have a concern about any aspect of our service, we encourage you to contact us directly. We value every client relationship and will respond thoughtfully to any issue raised.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version will always be available on this page with a revised "Last Updated" date. Continued use of this website or submission of an enquiry after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
